AI Foundations offers a set of accessible, engaging materials for building AI literacy with Minecraft. The program is designed to empower students, educators, and families with a fundamental understanding of how AI works and how to use AI tools responsibly.
AI Foundations offers a set of accessible, engaging materials for building AI literacy with Minecraft. The program is designed to empower students, educators, and families with a fundamental understanding of how AI works and how to use AI tools responsibly. Educators will explore a catalog of resources; from pre-built Minecraft worlds that are classroom-ready, to educator guides that provide walkthroughs, vocabulary, and extension activities.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Engaging with AI: Critically evaluate AI presence in educational contexts by analyzing AI Adventurers scenarios and identifying AI systems within current teaching tools, demonstrating foundational skills for systematic content assessment
Creating with AI: Design classroom-ready AI literacy instruction using Lesson Crafter and AI Foundations curriculum materials, demonstrating collaborative AI tool use while maintaining pedagogical integrity and educational standards
Managing AI: Apply appropriate AI integration strategies derived from AI Adventurers “Using AI Thoughtfully” principles to make evidence-based decisions about when AI enhances versus replaces essential teaching practices
Designing AI: Construct scaffolded AI literacy learning experiences using Minecraft Education resources that help students understand AI system behavior, bias detection, and ethical implications through Reed Smart and AI Foundations methodologies
